Considering that sensitive and beautiful coral reefs are easily threatened by so many things - the carelessness of boats and divers, climate change, etc - we really should not be adding deliberate poaching to the list. While taking a little bit of coral to put in your aquarium at home might seem like an innocent idea, it really does just aid the destruction of these amazing natural environments.

So why not opt for some beautiful porcelain vessels that mimic natural forms instead? Saving Seas by Katherine Morley is one example of an artificial substitute that's just as beautiful (and much more sustainable!).

It's like sinking old ships to create artificial (yet equally rich and vibrant) undersea habitats.
